To fulfill its mission BCCT, like all other NGOs, needs funding. BCCT has the capacity to cover a wide spectrum of requests by virtue of its diverse and invaluable range of volunteer skills but your donations are vital to BCCT. In supporting BCCT, you can make a lasting and crucial difference that will transform the lives of those who are not simply seeking handouts, but rather the knowledge and skills to enable them to improve their quality of life through their own efforts. Developing and mentoring sustainable livelihoods through co-operation with local partners brings rewards that ‘hand-outs’ cannot match.

BCCT needs funds to cover

• The costs of its assignments and programmes;

• The costs incurred by its local representatives who act as the conduit for clients and provide in-country support for the volunteers;

• Though BCCT has only one salaried employee it also needs to cover the core costs of developing and running BCCT;

BCCT 0prefers to receive its funding as general donations but recognises that many prefer to give for specific geographical, assignment, programme or other reasons.

BCCT’s work can be funded in a variety of ways; through the corporate social responsibility programmes of British companies operating in the areas covered, from local NGOs and companies, from Trusts and Foundations and from International and National Agencies supporting economic and social development. Individual donations or legacies are important to us.

The majority of fundraising activities are coordinated in London although BCCT’s representatives overseas can and do seek funding in their own countries.  For details of current  projects for which BCCT is seeking funding, please contact Richard Millward or Graham Smith (see below).

If the sums contributed are unexpended on the specific objects for which they were given they will be used for the general aims of BCCT.
