Association of Craft Producers

BCCT sends volunteer advisors to the Association of Craft Producers in Nepal who support over 1000 low income craft producers from the villages to assist them in supplementing their family income and overall standard of living. 

BCCT volunteers also help in product design, marketing as well as cost management.

Gondar College
Eye Surgery Programme

Dr. John Sanford-Smith visited Gondar, Ethiopa sponsored by Orbis International to train ophthalmic nurses to become Cataract Surgeons.   The training programme offers the only hope of reducing cataract blindness in Ethiopia affecting over 50,000 of the population at present.

The BCCT volunteer worked with the Cataract Surgon trainees to develop their surgical skills.  Lectures on all aspects of cataract surgery with given emphasising simple safe methods.

Weaving For The Global Market

A BCCT volunteer in Nepal advised on the design of high value products that would meet export standards giving this small enterprise a higher return and opportunities to expand.
