VOLUNTEER AND SHARE YOUR EXPERTISE

Your skills and experience are valuable – don’t waste them!

BCCT constantly seeks new Volunteer Advisors (VAs) to increase our spectrum of skills and experience. Are you are prepared to travel overseas and share your knowledge and skills? If so, please send BCCT your CV, online, to assignments@bcct.org.uk where it will be stored on our confidential database. Insurance limitations restrict the upper age of VAs to 74, though in special circumstances this limit can be extended. Volunteers with experience of working in developing economies are particularly welcome. BCCT primarily works in the field of enterprise development, covering almost all areas of manufacturing and commerce.

Assignments last from two to six weeks but occasionally may last up to four months. All airfares (economy), UK travel costs, board and lodging in country, visa and insurance expenses are met, plus £30 per week to cover incidentals. We regret we cannot pay for anyone to accompany a VA, but most clients are welcoming and will provide sufficient accommodation for two people.

If  you would like to become a Volunteer Adviser (VA) and are available for deployment as well as having the required expertise, please advise us by email. CVs should be limited to three pages, without formatting.  CVs should start with a short summary of your expertise and include your major employers, educational level, experience overseas and professional referees.   References will be taken up when a suitable assignment is identified, after which a revised or additional CV may be requested to reflect the specific needs of the assignment. VAs are contacted by email when an assignment suited to their skills occurs.
