- BCCT welcomes applications from almost all countries, especially those with emerging economies or economies in transition. The exceptions are the highly developed economies (e.g. France, Germany, Italy, Benelux).
- It is particularly important that applications state the level of experience needed or the specialist skills required. This enables BCCT to match the right Volunteer Adviser (VA) to the assignment.
- When applying for assistance you should be as specific as possible when completing the application form, giving as much detail as possible. The majority of our VAs speak English as their first language. Their professional expertise is best communicated either to a Client (or to his or her nominated representative) who understands English, or via an interpreter. It is helpful to tell us how our VA will communicate with the Client.
- Please be as accurate and realistic on the time that you expect the assignment to last (number of days or weeks) since this helps our Recruiters to select a VA who will be available for the length of time he or she is asked for.
- BCCT has local representatives overseas (BROs) in many of the countries in which it operates. We recommend that you consult them when applying as they can provide helpful advice. On receipt of your application we will advise you if there is a BRO in your region and provide you with his or her contact details.
- Once we have received your application for assistance and have advised you that we are able to meet your requirements, as part of the process you will be asked to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) which will set out what we ask you to provide on site and what you can expect BCCT to deliver.
